Shannon Celia
Shannon Celia is an award-winning artist who grew up in coastal New England and currently lives by the beach in Oxnard, CA. She paints in oil with palette knives and brushes to create her coastal inspired, texture heavy work. She typically paints en plein air or at her seaside home studio. Shannon Celia is a member of The Westlake Village Art Guild, a California Art Club associate member and an American Women Artists’ Associate Artist with Distinction, she participates in national and local juried art shows. She has won eleven awards in the last few years including a 2nd place ribbon in oils for her piece “Squid Ships” in the 79th Annual Open Juried Show in Santa Paula, CA. She has also had eleven solo shows and was just chosen as the first Artist in Residence at the Channel Islands Maritime Museum and will be showing work and painting there weekly in October 2017.
Sherri Cassell
Sherri Cassell is an award-winning artist who has studied with accomplished national and local artists Bert Collins and Glenna Hartmann as well as studying on her own by going through many miles of paper and canvas. She was born and raised in Santa Paula, CA. She remembers as a child looking up at the beautiful mountains surrounding her home town and playing underneath the tall eucalyptus trees. This was the beginning of her love for the California landscape. Sherri freelanced in commercial art for several years before devoting herself to her true passion, fine art. Sherri is an impressionistic landscape painter and her focus is the California landscape; she paints en plein air and at her studio. Most of her work is in pastels for she loves the rich colors and tactile quality of this medium, but she also enjoys working in oils. She is a member of the National Pastel Society of the West Coast and was most recently recognized at the 2017 Santa Paula 80th Art and Photography Exhibit where she was awarded the Douglas Shively Award of Excellence.
