VCCU Donates an additional $150K to VCCDC to Support Affordable Homeownership

Ventura County Credit Union amplifies support for VCCDC with additional $150,000 donation through FHLBank partnership

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. (July 15, 2025) — Ventura County Credit Union (VCCU) is continuing its 75th anniversary “Year of Giving” with an additional $150,000 donation to the Ventura County Community Development Corporation (VCCDC), thanks to a matching funds program through the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLBank) of San Francisco.

The donation was made possible through the FHLBank’s Member Matching Grant Program, which offers a 2-to-1 match for member contributions to qualifying nonprofits. After VCCU contributed $75,000 to VCCDC earlier this year, the credit union applied for the match and secured an additional $150,000 in support for VCCDC’s mission to build generational wealth through homeownership.

“We’re proud to deepen our support for VCCDC through this incredible opportunity provided by FHLBank,” said Linda Rossi, president and CEO of VCCU. “Together, we’re not just celebrating our 75th year — we’re investing in the future of Ventura County by helping more families access the resources they need to achieve homeownership and financial stability.”

The check presentation took place on Saturday, June 28, further strengthening the ongoing partnership between the two organizations.

VCCDC provides homeownership education, affordable lending solutions and financial counseling to low- and moderate-income individuals and families. With this added funding, VCCDC can expand its services and increase its impact across the county.

“This additional donation is a tremendous boost to our efforts,” said Bertha Garcia, executive director of VCCDC. “We are deeply grateful to both VCCU and FHLBank for believing in our work and the families we serve. This type of collaboration is how lasting change is made in our community.”
VCCU’s “Year of Giving” campaign celebrates the credit union’s 75 years of service with a commitment of $750,000 in charitable giving throughout 2025. VCCDC is one of several local nonprofits benefiting from the initiative.
