Ventura Downtown Lions Club to Present Over $40,000 in Charitable Contributions at August 7 Luncheon


VENTURA, Calif. (July 22, 2025) — The Ventura Downtown Lions Club will host a special presentation during its regular luncheon meeting on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m.at the Poinsettia Pavilion, highlighting more than $40,000 in charitable donations to organizations serving the Ventura community and beyond.

The meeting will feature formal check presentations to a wide array of nonprofit partners whose missions align with the Lions Club’s long-standing commitment to service, compassion, and community impact.

Major contributions include:

  • Salvation Army – $10,000 and $3,500
  • Food Share of Ventura County – $10,000
  • Teen Challenge Ventura – $10,000
  • Ronald McDonald Family Room – $2,500
  • Cancer Community Support – $2,500
  • Ventura County Community Foundation – $2,500
  • National Disaster Search Dog Foundation – $600
  • Turning Point Foundation – $150
  • Guide Dogs of America – $600
  • STEMbassadors of Ventura – $175
  • Merito Foundation – $175
  • Surfrider Foundation – $150

 

The Club also extends its appreciation to Immediate Past President Kevin Seelosand the 2024–2025 Board of Directorsfor their leadership and continued service, helping to guide the efforts that made this impactful distribution possible.
