City of Ventura to host draft General Plan Open House on Thursday, May 1
Community invited to review and weigh in on long-term plans for the City 
 
 
 
Ventura, Calif. - After more than five years in the making, the City of Ventura is excited to unveil the draft General Plan, a community-driven roadmap that will guide future growth, housing, transportation, environmental sustainability, and quality of life in Ventura through the year 2050. 
 
To kick off the public review process, the City will host an Open House on Thursday, May 1, inviting residents, business owners, and community members to learn more, ask questions, and provide feedback on the draft plan.

Location: Community Meeting Room in City Hall, located at 501 Poli St 
 
“The General Plan is more than a document, it’s a blueprint for our City’s future,” said Community Development Director Rachel Dimond. “We’re proud to reach this milestone and are eager to hear from our residents as we shape Ventura’s next chapter together.” 
 
The draft General Plan will be available online beginning the week of April 21 at www.planventura.com, where community members can review the document and find information about upcoming opportunities for public participation throughout the review period. The public comment period will remain open for 
approximately two months. 
 
Community input has been vital throughout this process, and continued feedback will help ensure the final plan reflects Ventura’s shared vision for a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable future.
